Contest announcement and second weekend menu!

Hope to see lots of this today!

I am nervous as hell today -as well as fighting a cold- as the main test for Mexico approaches, so I will keep it short. First, we’ve all had a chance to see every team play. There have been some insane surprises, some disappointing results, and some unfair calls, but that’s all part of the World Cup. The second game will probably determine most of the teams that will advance to 2nd round and these are all crucial -thus my nervousness.  So before we go any further I am launching the contest. To enter, leave a comment ON THIS POST with the following: 1) your prediction for the four semi-finalists 2) your prediction for the finalists 3) your prediction for the Champion. 3rd place will get a bottle of 2009 Indaba Chenin Blanc; 2nd place gets a bottle of 2006 Peter Lehmann Clancy’s Barossa Red courtesy of Republic National Beverage; first place gets a cool collectible Indaba soccer ball. Deadline to enter is Friday, June 25th. Prizes will be distributed after the final. Good luck!

Next, here is my menu for the upcoming weekend. I am excited with the matches not only on the field but on the plate as I am making new things I have never cooked before:
